Information: If the in the Capacity Allocation list are grayed out, they are unusable. Either the is degraded or there is a long running operation in progress, for example, modifying , or .
This dialog enables you to specify where to allocate capacity for the .
Select the corresponding radio button, and then click Next to continue the creation process by creating a new disk group.
You have three options:
Free capacity on the same disk group as the (recommended)
Use this option to ensure that if physical disks associated with the disk group are moved to another , all associated with the snapshot virtual disk reside on that group, and no further physical disks are required to be moved.
You are presented with a list of free capacity nodes on this disk group that are large enough for the snapshot repository virtual disk, with their capacities and levels.
Free capacity on different disk group
Use this option if there is not enough free capacity to create the snapshot repository virtual disk on the same disk group where the source virtual disk resides, or if that free capacity is unusable.
You are presented with a list of free capacity nodes that are large enough for the snapshot repository virtual disk and that exist on disk groups in the storage array where the source virtual disk does not reside. The capacity and RAID levels of the free capacity nodes are shown.
to create a new disk group
Use this option if there is not enough free capacity to create the snapshot repository virtual disk on the same disk group where the source virtual disk resides, or there is not free capacity on another disk group. Also, use this option if free capacity on the same disk group where the source virtual disk resides is unusable.
