Click Finish to create the , or click Back to return to previous dialogs and change snapshot and snapshot repository virtual disk parameters.
After clicking Finish, the remains highlighted in the Logical View. A snapshot virtual disk appears as a child node under the source virtual disk, showing the name of the snapshot virtual disk with its associated capacity in parentheses.
The snapshot repository virtual disk is displayed at the level under the where it resides, showing the name of the snapshot repository virtual disk.
Example
You create a snapshot of source virtual disk Accounting, called Accounting-1. This snapshot virtual disk displays as a child node under the source virtual disk with this icon , as shown in the following graphic.
The snapshot repository virtual disk, Accounting R-1, is created on Disk Group 1 and displays as a child node of that disk group, with this icon .
What Else Do I Need to Do?
Before you created the snapshot virtual disk, you stopped the application accessing the source virtual disk and unmounted the source virtual disk. Remount the source virtual disk, and restart the host application using it for storage. If, during the snapshot creation process, you selected the Map Later with Storage Partitioning advanced parameter, you must grant one or more hosts access to the snapshot by creating a .
Whether the snapshot virtual disk has an automatic or a specific virtual disk-to-LUN mapping, you also must use the utility or a similar utility to register the new snapshot virtual disk with the operating system of the host or hosts that will access the snapshot virtual disk. Under certain situations, you might also have to reboot the hosts.
