Reviving a Disk Group

Use the Revive option to revive (attempt to spin up) the physical disks in a selected . The Recovery Guru advises using this option when a failed SCSI  or a failed  causes a multi-physical disk failure. In either case, it is possible that the data on the physical disks is not corrupt, and the  can be successfully revived. Perform the following steps:

Important:??Correct use of this option depends on the data configuration on all physical disks in the disk group. Never attempt to revive a disk group unless supervised by a Customer and Technical Support representative.

Important: This operation fails if one or more of the physical disks is unusable and cannot be revived.

Select the disk group in the Logical View, and select Advanced >> Recovery >> Revive >> Disk Group.

Click Yes.

The following events occur:

  • The virtual disks in the disk group return to an  state in the Logical View.
  • Physical Disks in the Physical View that are associated with the disk group will return to an Optimal state.
