enclosure loss protection

Enclosure loss protection is achieved when  are configured so that the  remains available even if an individual enclosure is out of service.

The following table outlines the  level and number of physical disks and hot spare physical disks required to ensure enclosure loss protection.

  • You must select at least three physical disks from at least three different expansion enclosures when configuring the disk group to ensure enclosure loss protection.

  • Select physical disks from two or more available expansion enclosures when configuring the disk group.
  • You must pick an even number of physical disks. Enclosure loss protection is available as long as the mirrored pairs of physical disks do not exist in the same expansion enclosure.
