Disabling a Snapshot Virtual Disk

Use this option when you want to invalidate a  and stop any further  activity to its associated .

Using this option benefit you if one of the following conditions apply:

Use the following procedure to disable a snapshot virtual disk.

Important: If you are finished with the snapshot and do not intend to re-create it at a later time, select the snapshot virtual disk in the Logical View, and select Virtual Disk >> Delete to remove it. The associated snapshot repository virtual disk is removed, as well. For more information, see Deleting a Virtual Disk.

Note: The  utility displays the snapshot virtual disk in its output, even when the snapshot virtual disk is disabled.

Select the snapshot virtual disk in the Logical View, and select the Virtual Disk >> Snapshot >> Disable.

Type yes in the text field, and click OK.

The snapshot is disabled and then displays in the Logical View with the Disabled Snapshot status indicator . The associated snapshot repository virtual disk does not change status, but copy-on-write activity to it stops until the snapshot virtual disk is re-created by selecting Virtual Disk >> Snapshot >> Re-create.
