Forcing a Primary Virtual Disk to Change to a Secondary Virtual Disk

 Caution: Possible Loss of Access to Data. When the local  becomes a , any  that are accessing the  through a  will not be able to read or write to the virtual disk. The other virtual disk in the  also has a secondary role, so the mirrored data will not be host-accessible on either side.

Consider using this option when you want to perform a  and a communication problem between the local and remote sites is preventing the promotion of the secondary virtual disk at the remote site. When the communication problem has been resolved, there will be a  error condition. Use the Recovery Guru to recover from this error.

Important: To avoid the Dual Secondary error condition and subsequent recovery steps, wait until the connection between the  is operational to perform the role reversal.

To force a primary virtual disk to change to a secondary virtual disk, click Yes on the Change to Secondary - Error dialog to force the software to promote the selected primary virtual disk to a secondary role.
