Automatic Configuration Wizard: Create Your Own Configuration

Use this dialog to create your own, unique  configuration using any unconfigured capacity available on your storage array.

The Create Your Own Configuration dialog is formatted as a worksheet, and enables you to define the total number of , physical disks, and  to meet your specific storage requirements. If your storage array contains multiple , a tab for each physical disk type will be displayed.

Important:

Select the RAID level that will be assigned to the disk groups you create from the RAID level of disk groups list.

Specify or type the number of disk groups in the Number of disk groups spinner box.

Specify or type the number of physical disks per disk group in the Physical Disks per disk group spinner box.

Specify or type the number of  in the Hot spare physical disks spinner box. .

Specify or type the number of equal sized capacity virtual disks to be created per disk group.

Click Change I/O Type to change the I/O characteristic type for the virtual disks you are creating.

Click Show Summary to view a summary of the storage array configuration parameters you have chosen before committing to the new configuration.

If your storage array contains multiple physical disk types, a separate tab in will be displayed for each physical disk type that has unassigned physical disks available

After you have configured one physical disk type, click on the next physical disk type tab and use the worksheet to configure the physical disks as required. Repeat steps 1 through 7 for each physical disk type available.

Click Next to move to the next Wizard dialog.
