in-band storage array

A storage array in which the RAID controller modules are managed through an Ethernet connection from a storage management station to a host. The host sends the requests to the RAID controller modules through the input/output (I/O) connections between the host and the storage array. The RAID controller modules also use the I/O connections to send event information back to the storage management station through the host. Data is also sent to the storage array through the I/O connections.
