Indicates

Optimal

All managed devices have an Optimal status.

Needs Attention

One or more managed devices has a Needs Attention status. If you see this status, launch the corresponding management window by selecting the and selecting Tools >> Manage Storage Array. For a storage array, you can select Storage Array >> Recovery Guru to determine the cause of the Needs Attention status.

One or more devices are being contacted. When every storage array has been contacted, this icon is replaced with the overall health status.

Fixing

A Needs Attention condition has been corrected and the managed storage array is transitioning to an Optimal state. For example, a reconstruction might be in progress.

Note: The Fixing status is not shown in the health status area. It is only shown in the Tree view.

Needs Upgrade (Firmware)

The storage array is running a level of firmware that is no longer supported by the storage management software. Until you upgrade the firmware on this storage array, you will not be able to manage the storage array or monitor it for failures.

Caution: Potential loss of data access - Use the previous version of the storage management software to verify that the storage array is in an Optimal state, and correct any problems before updating the firmware.

Needs Upgrade (Software) The storage management software you are attempting to use is incompatible with the firmware on the RAID controller modules in the storage array. Until you upgrade the storage management software on this management station, you will not be able to manage the storage array or monitor it for failures.

Note: After upgrading to this version of the storage management software, subsequent firmware and NVSRAM upgrades to some RAID controller module models can be staged (downloaded but not activated until a user-selectable time). If the storage array has staged firmware and/or NVSRAM, this icon appears next to the storage array status icon in the Enterprise Management Window.
